Jazz in Film playlist Featuring Angelo Badalamenti, Bernard Herrmann, John Barry and many more!

The newest playlist contains my favorite jazz from various movies, television and even video games. You'll notice a lot of Angelo Badalamenti, particularly the music he did for "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me."
You'll also hear many other well known and not so well known composers. I'm starting the playlist off with what I consider to be one of the greatest sound tracks of all time, Bernard Herrmann's "Taxi Driver Theme"
Following that, you'll hear the theme to "Chinatown", "Fire Walk With Me", a track from "Romeo is Bleeding", "Body Heat" and many more.

Don't forget to subscribe on YouTube.
Am I missing a track you think deserves to be in this playlist? Let me know in the comments below!

Noir Jazz Playlist featuring Miles Davis, Paul Motian, John Barry and more.

I've recently created a playlist of all my favorite jazz tracks that sounds like they ought to be straight outta a 1940's Film Noir.

Here's the description:
"A great playlist for a late night in a rainy city; just add Venetian blinds, cigarette smoke, a whisky on the rocks and a novel by Raymond Chandler. Watch out for the woman asking for your help with an investigation, she'll just end up double-crossing you. They always do."

I've noticed that YouTube didn't have a few of my favorite tracks, the one's that really remind me of Film Noir. I uploaded three of those tracks last night from my personal collection.

Below is the Noir Jazz playlist, over 20 tracks that remind me of Film Noir or have been used in Film Noir. I'll be writing more about these tracks in another post at another time.
Scroll down for info on the other tracks I've uploaded.

As anyone who's familiar with my tastes may know, I'm a fan of Mile's Davis' work on the soundtrack to the 1957 French Film Noir "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud." I noticed that one track I really enjoyed wasn't on YouTube. That track was "L'Assassinat de Carala". I decided to also include two outtakes of the same track which can be heard along with the finished version below.

Paul Motian was a Philadelphian jazz drummer and composer who wrote some pretty rad tracks starting in the 1970's.
He began playing guitar from a young age before eventually moving on to drums at the age of 12.
Unfortunately he isn't very well known today, which is surprising considering the amazing style you'll hear in the track below:

And last, but certainly not least, we have a track by John Barry from the 1981 motion picture "Body Heat"
The entire soundtrack to the film was amazing, if you listened to the Noir Jazz playlist I've compiled above, you'll already be familiar with some of John Barry's work.
Without further ado, here's "Searching for Matty/Agreement" by John Barry:

Thanks for listening, if you've got a favorite track that you think isn't receiving some much deserved attention, leave a comment and I'll discuss it here on Reinarch's Rad Jazz Collection.
